A highly regarded London law firm, consistently recognised among The Times' Best Law Firms, is seeking a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join its busy Commercial Property Department.
The firm has a strong reputation across private client, property, and family law, alongside specialist expertise in areas such as company & commercial, art & heritage, charities, and landed estates. Clients include private individuals, businesses, trusts, and charities, all of whom expect the high standards of service and personal approach for which the firm is known.
The commercial property team undertakes a wide range of work, including investment, development, strategic land, landlord and tenant matters, financing, and estate management. The department is partner-led, with a collaborative structure and supportive working environment.
Responsibilities include:
This is a varied and busy role supporting the Commercial Property team. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, associates, and clients, and will be expected to take responsibility for some straightforward matters under supervision.
Drafting and negotiating documents, arranging signatures and completions, and dealing with post-completion matters
Liaising with clients, agents, solicitors, and third parties
Assisting with AML/CDD compliance and file openings
Managing deeds and documents (including scanning, archiving, and retrieving)
Obtaining searches and Land Registry documents
Creating document comparisons, attendance notes, and engrossments
E-filing and ensuring all documents comply with house style and are saved correctly to the DMS
Supporting business development initiatives and assisting with ad hoc tasks as required
What we need from you:
A law degree or other legal qualification, with recent paralegal experience in commercial property preferred
Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks reliably
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence to liaise directly with clients
Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
A collaborative, team-focused approach with flexibility to support others
Proficiency (or ability to quickly learn) in relevant IT systems, including Word, Excel, iManage, Practical Law, Land Registry portal, and related platforms
