The Role

We're seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Commercial Property Solicitor to handle a stimulating mix of work and take the lead in developing our commercial property practice.

You'll be working directly with quality clients and contributing to a department that is central to the firm's continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Advising clients on landlord and tenant matters. Handling acquisitions and disposals of commercial property. Managing freehold and leasehold titles. Drafting and negotiating leases and related documents. Supporting property development projects. Contributing to business development, networking and marketing initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone ideally with at least 2 years' PQE in commercial property law who is ready to take ownership, show initiative, and grow within a fast-moving environment. There is also prospects for much higher PQE candidates as the team is rapidly growing its caseload and becoming recognised in the Sussex commercial property scene, including being finalists in upcoming prestigious Sussex business awards.

Essential Skills & Attributes

Solid experience in commercial property transactions. Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Meticulous attention to detail and clear communication style. Confident working independently and collaboratively. High client service standards and a proactive approach. Tech-savvy and comfortable using social media in a professional context. Business-minded with an interest in entrepreneurship and transactional work. A positive, calm and humorous approach to a busy workload. Enthusiasm for developing your skills and taking on new challenges.

What We Offer

Competitive salary: 45K-75K+ (DOE). Generous commission scheme and Christmas bonus. Hybrid / flexible working (office presence required part of the week). What You'll Do

Manage a diverse caseload of commercial property matters. Advise on acquisitions, disposals, leases, developments, and landlord/tenant work. Deliver clear, practical advice to clients across sectors. Support business development and networking activities. Take ownership of client relationships and contribute to the firm's continued growth.

What We're Looking For

Ideally at least 2 years' PQE with experience in commercial property law (all PQE from 1 year PQE to many years PQE would be considered). A strong grasp of landlord & tenant, leasehold, and transactional work. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills. Proactive, commercial mindset and attention to detail. Confidence working independently to deal with clients directly and as part of a team. IT-savvy and social media aware. Enthusiastic about entrepreneurship, business, and transactional work. Able to stay calm, professional and good-humoured under pressure. Willingness to contribute to marketing and business development.
