Job Description

Fulltime: 37hrs per week



Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing 23rd February (TBC)




We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Surveyor to manage, oversee and optimise the financial and contractual aspects of projects and the wider business, to ensure profitability, cost efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards and agreements, ensuring projects are completed within budget while also maintaining quality for Crocus Homes.

Key Responsibilities Include:



Managing and maintaining all aspects of cost control; budgets, forecasting, financial planning and contractual elements of projects. Negotiating and awarding contracts and agreements, with / to sub-contractors. Process sub-contract orders, payments and variations using the business's payment system (COINS). Monitoring project costs and business profitability, and mitigating financial risks, with full awareness of the budget constraints, ensuring project's stay within budget. Completing regular financial reports and updates to the business, as required.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:



Educations and Qualifications:



BSc Hons Degree in a construction related subject Relevant CSCS card or equivalent Full UK driving licence.

Experience:



Experience at a senior level in financial cost management Experience of contract management Experience in managing residential projects for a housebuilder COINS experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:



Strong analytical and numerical skills for managing budgets, costs, and financial risks. Excellent negotiation skills to agree and secure favourable costings and terms in contracts. Clear and effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people. Ability to liaise with internal and external personnel. Ability to lead, manage and motivate team members to achieve business objectives. Delegation and decision-making skills. Ability to plan and anticipate challenges, to mitigate risks. Find and develop pro-active solutions. Excellent attention to details; precision in reviewing contractor's bids, financial documents, contracts, and project progress. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Manage and control preliminary costs in accordance with budget. Good administration skills. Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work on own initiative. Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) Experience in working with COINS payment system. Committed to diversity and inclusion.

Personal Attributes:



Daily travel to development sites and Head Office. Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked. Core hours 8.30am - 5.00pm, generally Monday to Friday.
