commercial workshop and also supporting our Logistics fleet, the candidate will be responsible for all ordering, pricing, storage, stock control, allocation and administration of parts and consumables purchased for the Workshop department.
Main duties and responsibilities
Laise with all shifts to ensure required parts are ordered to maintain customer satisfaction
Provide timely communication on parts and order status
Issue purchase orders as required and match incoming delivery notes.
Check all stock and goods-in deliveries are compete in line with the delivery note, are received/ booked into parts stock and put away in the correct stock location
Ensure all stock is always secure and well maintained
Maintain all stock levels and deal with any parts requests from technicians and other internal customers
Identify and understand the parts required by technicians
Ensure all parts issued/used are added to the correct job cards.
Responsible for purchase, maintenance and repair of all tooling and other workshop equipment.
Ensure that old parts and/or old units are segregated and returned where required, along with the necessary documentation.
Arrange the return or exchange of any unused parts not normally kept in stock
Maintain and control stock records for all parts, consumables and other materials
Maintain pricing structures within the software / ordering system
Liaise with current and potential suppliers to ensure best price and quality of parts at all times
Regular communication with suppliers that we hold impress stock for to ensure stock counts are accurate, the required parts are replenished when required and no obsolete or unnecessary parts are still being held.
Carry out and reconcile stock counts as and when required by management
Work with the management team to introduce agreed improvements and methods of working
Ensure the parts & consumables storage area is kept orderly, tidy and safe to work in
Report any accidents or incidents as soon as possible in line with company reporting procedures
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements / Skills
Previous experience working in a similar role ideally in a workshop environment
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Planning and organisational skills
Flexibility - you may be required to work late in busy periods.
Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to build good relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders
High level of H&S Standards
