Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients for various dishes Support senior chefs in cooking and plating meals according to established recipes and standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations Ensure all food items are prepared efficiently and presented attractively Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying management of stock levels Serve food to guests when required, ensuring excellent customer service and presentation standards

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; a keen interest in culinary arts is important Basic knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety procedures Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to busy kitchen environments Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon employment is preferred Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required
