We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation and supporting the chefs in delivering high-quality meals. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and meals according to established recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Support chefs in cooking tasks, including grilling, frying, and baking as required.
Help with plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages or issues.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role is advantageous.
Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced techniques.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in meal preparation.
Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
