The successful candidate will be a friendly individual who is creative, passionate, and excited about working in hospitality. You shall be trained on-site and will be enrolled into an apprenticeship with our training provider. Working in a fast-paced environment amongst experienced and passionate individuals, you will receive training on-site and will be enrolled into an apprenticeship programme with our local training provider.
We are Cheltenham's first rooftop restaurant. Our ethos is to serve fresh, local produce that changes to suit the seasonal calendar. We are currently open 7 days a week, serving a mix of working breakfasts and lunches, afternoon tea, a la carte dinners and the occasional tasting menu. In addition to our offering, we will soon be opening a Deli in our downstairs operation, The Quad. This will require planning and preparation from the whole team to deliver a consistently high standard of eat in and take out food options.
A snapshot of your responsibilities:
Cooking support- following precise instructions and recipes as directed by senior chefs.
Food preparation- prepare ingredients for dishes under supervision.
Food safety & hygiene- maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping whilst being aware of the allergen protocols.
Stock & inventory- assist with checking deliveries and monitoring stock levels.
Team support & communication- working cooperatively with chefs, kitchen porters, and front of house staff to deliver an exceptional service to our guests. This includes responding quickly to instructions and requests during service.
In summary, as part of the Nook's training and development initiative you will be trained to work as a high calibre junior chef in a fine-dining establishment and in return you will contribute to supporting your colleagues in ensuring food is produced and served to the highest standard in order to deliver an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
About you
You will:
be calm under pressure;
be well-organised and have a good attention to detail;
have a friendly and professional manner and enjoy working as part of a team; and
have or be prepared to obtain a Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (this will be provided to you during the course of your induction as well as other mandatory health & safety training).
