We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team.
Applicants must be able to work weekends as required and be able to get home safely at night without relying on public transport due to the rural location of the Restaurant
Duties will mainly be preparing sides and desserts in a fast paced kitchen environment and the a great team!
As a Commis, you will play a vital role in food production and preparation, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry, contributing to a positive team environment while delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Support senior kitchen staff in various tasks, including food production and plating.
Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and inventory control.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
Help train and supervise junior kitchen staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety within the kitchen at all times.
Requirements
Previous experience in food production or preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
A passion for cooking and eagerness to learn new techniques in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
