Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in food preparation, assisting senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes while adhering to food safety standards.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the supervision of senior kitchen staff. Ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in the management of kitchen inventory, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. Support senior chefs in menu planning and execution during busy service periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Strong team management skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. A passion for hospitality and providing exceptional dining experiences for guests. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
