We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring a smooth workflow. Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Support the team in managing inventory and stock levels, including receiving and storing deliveries.
Help with plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Participate in daily kitchen briefings to understand menu changes and special requests.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
Supervise junior kitchen staff as required, providing guidance and support in their tasks.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for culinary arts is key.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support team members.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration within a busy hospitality setting.
