We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting in food preparation and supporting the cooking staff to ensure the smooth operation of our restaurant. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
Help cooks during service by preparing garnishes and assembling dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment.
Follow food safety protocols to ensure high standards of hygiene are met.
Participate in the production of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and quality of food.
Support with inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and reporting shortages.
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
A keen interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
