We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Support in the management of food production processes, including portion control and presentation.
Participate in inventory management by helping to receive and store supplies appropriately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
Help train and supervise junior kitchen staff as required, fostering a positive learning environment.
Contribute ideas for menu development and improvements based on seasonal ingredients.
Experience
Previous experience in a hospitality or culinary role is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking is key.
Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is preferred.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A willingness to learn and develop leadership skills within the culinary field.
Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
