Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, along with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential for supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained.

This is a daytime position and does not include evening work.

The suitable candidate must hold a driving licence.

This position includes weekends.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the supervision of senior kitchen staff. Ensure that all food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Demonstrated knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques. Strong understanding of food safety standards and practices. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn from experienced chefs is essential.
