Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Support the team in food production tasks, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes. Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for daily specials. Supervise junior kitchen staff during service to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Uphold excellent standards of hospitality while interacting with other kitchen staff.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques. Supervising experience within a culinary setting is advantageous for this role. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Culinary qualifications or relevant training will be considered an asset.
