Commis Chef

45 Hours per week

This role requires evening and weekend working on a scheduled basis

Commis Chef

at this exciting time.

The role will be working alongside the chef brigade being responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard. Formal training and development will be provided to grow within the kitchen team.

Responsibilities:

Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces

Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality of dishes

Help set up and stock the kitchen with necessary ingredients and equipment

Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing ingredients properly

Assist in plating dishes and ensuring they are presented attractively

Collaborate with other members of the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours

Requirements:

Experience of working in a professional kitchen is desirable

Knowledge of basic cooking techniques

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and a strong focus on food presentation

Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
