Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic restaurant environment while contributing to a collaborative team.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as directed by the Head Chef. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Support the cooking process by preparing sauces, garnishes, and other components as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing food products appropriately. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques. Follow all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices. Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to learn from senior kitchen staff. A passion for cooking and a desire to develop a career in the culinary field. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Rate of pay dependant on experience.
