The Lancashire Manor Hotel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting with meal preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards.
Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes, maintaining the presentation and quality expected by our guests.
Help maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
Learn and apply various cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs to enhance culinary skills.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for culinary arts is highly valued.
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is crucial.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
