Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The Commis will work closely with senior chefs, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen and supporting team management efforts.

Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to specified recipes and standards Support food production activities, ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service hours Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations Follow hygiene protocols diligently, including proper handling and storage of ingredients Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations Supervise junior staff or trainees when required, providing guidance and support Contribute to maintaining a positive team environment through effective communication and teamwork Support in inventory management, including stock rotation and waste reduction

Qualifications



Proven experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality roles Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Previous supervisory or team management experience is desirable Competence in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards service excellence Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality settings is preferred A genuine passion for culinary arts and customer service excellence
