We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills while working alongside experienced chefs.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
Ensure all food production meets quality standards and is prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting any shortages to senior staff.
Skills
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in food production and presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
