We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This role is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to the overall success of our hospitality establishment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs. Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Support the team by helping with inventory management and stock rotation. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Assist in supervising junior kitchen staff when required, fostering a positive team environment.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Basic culinary skills with a passion for cooking and food preparation. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Leadership qualities, with an eagerness to learn from senior chefs. Experience in hospitality or kitchen settings is advantageous but not essential. Good communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
