About Us

The Bell, in the village of Ticehurst is an award winning boutique hotel, pub, restaurant and wedding venue situated on the Kent/Sussex border Multi award winning and an AA 5 star Gold Accreditation. 2 AA Rosettes and in 2024 Michelin Guide (Food) 40 seat restaurant renowned for serving contemporary English food, 11 bedrooms including 4 lodges, based on local Oast houses. Popular venue for weddings for up to 90 guests, intimate dinners, parties, lunches and gatherings. Comedy/film nights, Spring & Winter fairs along with a Summer music festival. Development plan over the next 18 months to include; more bedrooms, new restaurant and a new state of the art kitchen.

Experience

Hotel, restaurant or pub kitchen experience preferred Enthusiasm to progress Eager to learn Experience working in busy working environment

Days / Hours

Opening times cover breakfast, lunch and dinner midweek and weekends Evening and weekend work required

Key tasks and accountability

Preparation and production of food to agreed standards High level of communication Mise en place ready prior to service Observation of hygiene regulations HACCP Reliability and presentation

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience in a Commis Chef position - not essential
