Celino's Alexandra Parade G313BT is a multi award winning Italian Delicatessen Cafe & Trattoria. We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef who will gain the opportunity to work with our talented chefs who have years of Italian culinary experience.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Support food production by preparing ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements.
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a strong desire to learn is key.
Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities when required.
Familiarity with hospitality standards and practices within a restaurant setting is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
