We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and production. You will work closely with experienced chefs, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in food safety and kitchen management.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Support the kitchen team in food production tasks, including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen procedures.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. A passion for cooking and a desire to develop a career in the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
