Scope and Purpose
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Commissioning & Site Services Engineer will work within the engineering team to support our products on customer sites. The role also involves providing technical backup and services to the sales team and directly to customers, supporting the sale and successful operation of Company products.
Based at our Hull office,
the postholder will be required to travel extensively worldwide.
Responsibilities
Erect and commission Company equipment on customer sites.
Provide troubleshooting assistance to customers, including understanding the wider processes our machines support within their facilities.
Deliver technical support to the Sales Team and customers.
Service and maintain Company equipment, and potentially third-party equipment, on customer sites.
Assist with process trials and product development at our Test Facility in Northern France and on customer sites.
Skills and Experience
Ideally apprenticeship-trained or qualified to HND level (or equivalent), with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles and willingness to undertake practical work on customer sites.
Ability to work independently and unsupervised, as well as part of a small service team.
Experience working with large-scale process plant and equipment is essential.
Knowledge of Oilseed Processing, Rendering, or similar process environments is highly desirable, with an expectation to develop and expand this expertise.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of a business.
Proven experience collaborating with customers to develop engineering solutions for design, process, and operational challenges.
Knowledge of PLCs and other electrical control systems would be advantageous.
Mechanical fitting experience would be beneficial.
Additional language skills would be an asset.
