Opportunity:

HVSS is seeking a qualified Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team due to our expanding portfolio. This role is crucial for the ongoing development of the business and involves working on major high voltage substation projects across the UK.

Job Role:

Plan and carry out commissioning testing of substation equipment and in particular protection equipment to ensure network capital investment is safe and fit for purpose. Commission primary and secondary plant including transformers, Indoor GIS/outdoor switchgear, and associated plant on new projects up to 132kV substation. Prepare and review commissioning documents, drawings, and reports. Ensure compliance with specifications and engineering standards. Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to resolve any technical issues and ensure optimal integration of commissioning works. Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor project progress and adherence to safety regulations. Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and technicians.

Working Hours:

45 hours per week - Flexible. Work from home, site, or office.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Proven experience as a commissioning engineer in infrastructure or utilities, preferably in high voltage substations. Strong technical understanding of electrical power systems up to 400kV. Excellent project management and leadership skills. Strong IT skills for interaction with complex relay schemes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range:

30,000 to 60,000 Depending on experience.
