As Signal's Communications Management function continues to grow, we are seeking a Team Lead to take ownership of workload management and team performance within their team. This role will focus on day-to-day delivery excellence, team development, and ensuring quality standards are maintained across all communications management projects.
The Team Lead role is essential to maintaining delivery excellence and team effectiveness within Signal's Communications Management function. You will manage workload distribution across your developer team, act as the day-to-day escalation point for delivery issues, and provide hands-on coaching to team members. Working closely with the Service Delivery Lead and broader delivery teams, you will ensure your team delivers high-quality work while continuously developing their capabilities.
This role offers opportunities to develop your leadership skills while remaining closely connected to technical delivery. You will balance operational management responsibilities with supporting your team's professional growth, contributing to Signal's reputation for exceptional customer communication experiences.
The Team Lead contributes to Signal's operational excellence by maintaining strong working with internal stakeholders, managing day-to-day team performance, and ensuring adherence to quality and process standards.

Key Responsibilities
Workstream Delivery

  • Manage workload distribution within your developer team, ensuring efficient resource allocation and balanced capacity
  • Act as the day-to-day escalation point for delivery issues within your assigned workstreams, resolving challenges promptly
  • Oversee project delivery for your team, ensuring work meets quality standards and deadlines
  • Coordinate with Client Services on project-specific requirements and client-facing delivery matters
Team Leadership & Development
  • Line manage Communications Developers within your team, providing day-to-day support, coaching and performance management
  • Support team members to identify development opportunities and enhance their skills and capabilities
  • Foster collaborative working relationships within your team and across the broader Communications Management function
  • Contribute to recruitment and onboarding activities, supporting new team members with process knowledge
Process Execution & Quality
  • Ensure your team applies processes correctly and consistently across all projects
  • Flag process issues and improvements to the Service Delivery Lead
  • Support your team in responding to quality control incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Participate in quality checks and maintain documentation standards within your team
Operational Support
  • Suggest improvements to support implementation and testing alongside the Service Delivery Lead and team members
  • Work on change projects as allocated to your team
  • Apply operational controls and flag risks within your area of responsibility
  • Support maintenance of documentation alongside team members
  • Participate in training initiatives and drive skill development within your team
