Communication and Development Officer
to join our small, friendly team and help strengthen community engagement through media, events, and volunteer coordination.
About the Role
The postholder will support the delivery and promotion of SPS services by:
Assisting with the publication of East Midlands po Polsku (EMpP)community newspaper
Managing social media content, including Facebook and the EMpP website
Preparing promotional and communication materials
Liaising with EMpP advertisers and coordinating related administrative tasks
Supporting the organisation of workshops and family events
Recruiting, supporting, and coordinating volunteers
Contributing to project monitoring and reporting
About You
You will have:
Fluency in
Polish and English
(spoken and written)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence using IT, including
Microsoft Office, WordPress, graphic design software, and social media
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to
equality, diversity, and community cohesion
Desirable:
Experience in media or communications
Experience working with volunteers
Knowledge of community development or event delivery
Contract & Salary
Salary:
23,573 pro rata per annum, rising to 24,538 pro rata from April 2026
Contract:
Fixed-term until 30 June 2027 (with possibility of extension)
Probation:
4 months
