Communication Manager - Internal (AC7)
Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)
Salary: 40,599 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Manchester (The role will be based in Manchester; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

Are you a people person - supporting those around you to do their best work, with an understanding of your whole staff body, and how best to communicate with them?
If that sounds like you, then you could be our Communication Manager (Internal). This role leads our Internal Communication team, and delivers all our internal campaigns, and will also pick up a small number of external projects.
Along with managing people, this Communication Manager will be responsible for shaping the internal communication our brilliant colleagues receive, as well as leading certain external communication projects. So, from providing business updates, to helping colleagues advocate for the Arts Council themselves; and from hosting largescale, hybrid meetings and events, to supporting our dispersed communication team to deliver a campaign; this is a unique role in an organisation made up of passionate, skilled people.
Here's a flavour of what you can expect to do on a day-to-day basis - although no two days will be the same:

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of all internal communication activity in the Arts Council - from regular communication touchpoints, to supporting the Internal Communication team to mark one-off moments with a bang
• Take overall responsibility for the Arts Council's on- and offline internal channels, including intranet (MS SharePoint based), emails (Outlook and MS Dynamics), and in-office presence like screens, blackboards, posters
• Advise colleagues at all levels on the best approach for internal communication activity - whether suggesting a method to launch a new system or setting out the best route to share an urgent update
• Deliver external campaigns, collaborating with and leading other communication colleagues
• Joining the Advocacy and Communication management team, providing a staff-first audience perspective, and collaborating with other managers to demonstrate best practice in our work

To succeed in this role, you'll be a proactive person who works well leading, as well as part of a team, and are passionate about internal communication. You'll be great at building relationships and managing your time efficiently so that you can give your all to several different projects at once.
