Job Description

Purpose of role:



To oversee The Fifth Trust's communications and marketing activities, and to work with the team to plan and deliver events. This role will enhance visibility and drive engagement around the Trust's care services and social enterprises using all available communication channels.

Key responsibilities



Digital communication and social media



Deliver The Fifth Trust's communication plan.

Create engaging content across multiple platforms (including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).

Grow and maintain digital engagement and social media presence, including responding to queries.

Produce regular, compelling content for www.fifthtrust.co.uk.

Produce a monthly print and digital newsletter.

Working with the Finance Director, produce the charity's annual report and other reports and policy reviews as required by the CEO.

Monitor analytics and conduct annual social media reviews to inform strategy and improve reach.

Marketing & PR



Develop campaigns to promote The Fifth Trust fundraising events and appeals, working with the Fundraising Manager.

Produce marketing material, e.g. posters, leaflets, signage, product labelling.

Ensure consistent use of The Fifth Trust brand.

Write press releases as appropriate and develop links with local media.

Produce editorial and advertising for local publications, e.g. village magazines.

Events and outreach



Promote events showcasing students' creative work, with the Sales & Merchandising Manager.

Represent The Fifth Trust at community engagement events.

Collaborate with the senior management team to plan and execute large fundraising events, such as the charity's annual Christmas craft fair.

Media and content management



Contribute to the image library, including the organisation and archiving of photos, videos, and media assets.

Work with the wider staff team to document events and activities.

Create applicant packs for vacancies as needed, using pre-designed templates.

Plus other relevant tasks as required.

Person specification



Essential



Minimum 2 years' experience in a communications or marketing role.

Proven ability to create engaging and inspiring content for diverse audiences.

An understanding of social media strategy, analytics and management tools.

Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal.

Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Experience using design software, such as Canva.

Experience with website content management systems (ideally WordPress).

Proficiency using Microsoft 365 (formerly Microsoft Office).

Willingness to travel between sites and around the local area (full driving license is required).

Must uphold The Fifth Trust's values with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable



Experience in the charity sector.

Proven success working in a small, dynamic team.

Familiarity with email marketing tools, such as Mailchimp.

Video editing skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 26,800.00-27,100.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
