This Communications and Marketing Manager role is an exciting opportunity to work at Imperial College London's internationally renowned Department of Brain Sciences. The successful applicant will create and deliver a wide-ranging communications and marketing strategy for a unique portfolio of translational research and educational programmes in neuroscience and mental health.
What you would be doing

This Communications and Marketing Manager supports and enhances the wide-ranging research and teaching activities of Imperial's Department of Brain Sciences. Working with senior colleagues within the Department, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering communications strategies which serve the academic, culture and organisational needs of the Department.
You will lead external, digital, and internal communications activities for the Department. You will analyse opportunities, prioritise approaches and articulate strategies to Departmental leads and relevant internal audiences to attain buy-in by all stakeholders and effectively deliver approaches to raise internal and external awareness of the Department's work.
You will take responsibility for proactively identifying opportunities and will work with teams across the Faculty and wider university to create efficient, effective ways to capture and publicise activities and achievements, using a range of media as appropriate. You will also work with key education leads and the Faculty of Medicine and Imperial Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (MRA) teams to support communication about the Department's educational activities and enhance student recruitment and marketing activities.
The role works collaboratively as a member of the wider Faculty of Medicine communication group and will maintain an integrated approach to planning, enabling, delivering, and evaluating communications activities.
What we are looking for

We're looking for an enthusiastic and versatile comms professional with the skills and experience to deliver communications and marketing strategies for distinct audiences.
You'll be as comfortable working with technical scientific content as you are drafting internal communications for our staff and students. You'll have experience managing websites (via a CMS), professional social media accounts, and working at the interface of communications and marketing campaigns. You bring an evidence-based and data-informed approach to you work. You will be equally committed to ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion are foundational to our activities.
You'll be a confident negotiator, adept at building strong professional relationships and working effectively across a complex, networked organisation.
