Role Summary:



The External Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer will work as part of a team to drive the delivery of the company's external communications strategy through an outcomes-focused stakeholder engagement programme including strategic stakeholder management, workshops, webinars, PR, survey development, public affairs and media relations.


The postholder will coordinate our stakeholder engagement programme, tracking meetings with our key stakeholders, and ensuring insight is collected and added to our Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) system.


The postholder will work with the business to ensure the SRM system is up-to-date, accurate and user-friendly, providing support and guidance with the preparation of reports and analysis to deliver valuable insight into our stakeholder engagement programme.


The postholder will work with the business to develop compelling communications collateral (articles, press releases, presentations, campaign materials etc) and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders to shape and influence the external reputation and raise awareness of the business.


This role will also support the team as required for event planning and delivery, media relations and public affairs.


The role will also require working with stakeholder liaison teams in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and our delivery partner organisations, Ofgem, NESO and our settlement agent, EMRS.#

Key Responsibilities



Stakeholder engagement

Tracking and reporting on stakeholder engagements. Delivering stakeholder communications via dialogue, events programme, bulletins, website, social media. Delivering stakeholder insight via an annual survey. Uploading insight into the Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) system. Creating SRM reports to deliver insight into stakeholder engagement. Championing the SRM system to ensure high levels of adoption and user satisfaction across the business. Developing and maintaining accuracy of stakeholder maps. Coordinating effectively across the business, ensuring that all stakeholder queries are responded to within agreed deadlines. Working as part of the wider team to research and develop stakeholder engagement plans for new stakeholder groups.


External communications, media relations, public affairs and PR

Work with teams across the business to identify, develop and deliver compelling content for the website, social media, events, award entries and media outlets. Support with the development and delivery of effective communications plans which will enhance LCCC's reputation as a trusted voice in the clean energy transition. Prepare reports on the performance of communications activities Support the business with media monitoring and responding to enquiries as required. Support the business with public affairs activities.


Event management

Provide support for the business on event management and delivery as required (workshops, webinars, conferences, teach-ins). Ensure event feedback is collected and any insights are shared.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise





Experience of working in a communications team across a broad stakeholder landscape. Highly desirable - knowledge of the energy sector Extensive experience of Microsoft Office, CRM/SRM and online tools such as EventBrite and Slido Experience of using digital CMS and social media tools is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor complex information into clear engaging content for different audiences Maturity and flexibility to thrive under changing demands and competing priorities Confident in dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally Exceptional attention to detail Business reporting and analysis Good interpersonal skills Ability and willingness to take on a wider range of tasks to support the team as necessary
