EMBS is a values-led education provider supporting young people and adults to progress into education, training, and employment. We work with 16-19 learners, learners with EHCPs, school referrals, and adult learners. Our approach is inclusive, relational, and rooted in helping people move forward with confidence.
Purpose of the Role
The Communications & Development Officer is a hands-on, practical role focused on telling the EMBS story, building relationships, and helping learners, partners, and funders understand what we do.
You will be out and about meeting people, creating content, updating information, supporting recruitment, and helping EMBS grow its reach and impact. This role suits someone who enjoys doing, connecting with others, and making things happen day to day.
The role will involve working across our Oxford and Banbury sites, with regular travel to partner organisations, events, and outreach activities.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential

Key Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing
Keep the EMBS website up to date, clear, and welcoming
Create regular content for social media, newsletters, and promotions
Take photos and short videos of activities, learners (with consent), and events
Write friendly, accessible content that reflects EMBS values
Support open days, enrolment periods, and learner recruitment activity
Engagement & Relationship Building
Build and maintain positive relationships with schools and colleges, local authorities and referrers, employers, community groups, and partners
Attend meetings, events, and networking opportunities to raise EMBS's profile
Follow up enquiries and referrals in a timely, professional way
Learner Recruitment & Outreach
Support recruitment by promoting courses and opportunities
Help identify new referral pathways and outreach opportunities
Capture feedback, case studies, and learner stories (sensitively and ethically)
Development & Funding Support
Support funding and development work by:
Gathering information, evidence, and impact data
Helping draft sections of funding bids or reports
Maintaining simple records of contacts, partnerships, and outcomes
Administration & Compliance
Liaise with designers, printers, or media support when needed
Ensure communications follow safeguarding, GDPR, and consent requirements
Track engagement activity and provide simple updates on what's working

Pay: 25,000.00-33,000.00 per year
