Communications Executive

Job Description

We are looking for a collaborative, creative and people-focussed communications executive to join our communications team - helping us to deliver meaningful communications that champion our vision, our values and culture.

It's an exciting, wide-ranging role with an emphasis on delivering effective internal communications and ensuring our Civic team at all levels, across all locations and services have a voice, and our culture and values are brought to life. You'll play an important role in engaging teams in our 'Conscience', and sharing the stories of the great work they do as a team of system thinkers.

Predominantly focussed on internal communications and awards submissions, you will also work closely with our senior communications executive and senior communications manager on external communications, including creating and delivering engaging website stories and awards submissions.

Day-to-day task and expectations



Supporting our senior communications manager and director of communications and culture, you will assist with the delivery of our internal and external communications acrossCivic

Help create and deliver brilliant, creative and engaging campaigns and content that support our vision, both internally and externally

Review and maintain our internal communication channel matrix, making recommendations for how we can improve

Adopting a key listening role,source, produce, plan and identify opportunities to create content that supports employee engagement and promotes vision, values, culture and voices of our team

Working in partnership with our People & Culture team, come up with ideas for internal communications initiatives and help to deliver them eg Away Days, awareness weeks

Co-ordinating the production of our internal newspaper, including writing content for it

Co-ordinate an awards calendar, identify awards opportunities and draft awards submissions.

Support ad hoc website administration, including creating and presenting content, providing analytics and any necessary development and administration linked to the site

Assist with any necessary marketing administration.

Experience/Qualifications Required:



Educated to degree level or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years experience in fast paced communications environment working across all aspects of internal and external communications

Experience of creating engaging written communications for a variety of purposes from news stories to opinion pieces to website content.

Ability to spot news angles, interesting hooks and digest information quickly.

Proven ability to work with people at all levels.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 28,000.00-32,000.00 per year
