Communications & External Affairs Assistant (CCR)

------------------------------------------------------

Job description

Role: Communications & External Affairs Assistant

Salary: 28,142 to 32,061

About the Organisation:

Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) is a long-term partnership of ten councils across South-East Wales, working together to grow the regional economy and improve lives. Based in the innovative Spark Building at Cardiff University, CCR tackles major challenges in industry, public policy, and society - locally, nationally, and globally.

We're focused on creating shared prosperity, boosting productivity, and building a greener, fairer economy. Our vision of inclusive growth means every community in our region has access to opportunity and the chance to thrive.

By joining CCR, you'll help deliver strategic projects that support social and economic well-being across South-East Wales.

About the Job:

Are you a creative thinker, with the skills to be organised and coordinate others? Do you love to write or create stories? If you are looking for your step onto the communications career ladder, then this role could be for you.

You will have the opportunity to work across the three key areas of the department - marketing communications, external affairs and events - getting involved with campaigns, events, content and plenty more. You will support the team with admin duties, as well as supporting the head of service in generating departmental reports.

If you're looking for a role that will offer variety, a chance to learn new skills and play an important part in delivering excellent, engaging and meaningful communications, then it's time to take a look at the JD and apply.

What we are looking for from you:

You will have a Level 4 qualification (or above) in related topics - media, communications, marketing, business - with a minimum of 12 weeks' experience in a similar role. You will have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to think creatively and effectively manage your workload, as well as the ability to coordinate diaries and meetings.

You will have strong written and verbal skills, which you have demonstrated by representing an organisation at an event or content creation, as well as an excellent attention to detail and being able to spot opportunities.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 30 September and Thursday, 2 October.

For an informal chat about the role, please contact Francesca Carpanini at francesca.carpanini@cardiffcapitalregion.gov.uk
