Job Description

Purpose of the post:



Oversee the delivery of a communications schedule that meets the objectives of the communication strategy.

Manage all communication channels, posting content that has been created by the rest of the team.

Take combined responsibility for media and marketing at the club, acting as the main conduit for third party media enquiries and organising press conferences, whilst preparing marketing campaigns in line with the communication strategy and financial objectives of the organisation.

Key duties and responsibilities:



Manage the delivery of the communications strategy across Club Doncaster, Doncaster Rovers Football Club, Doncaster Rugby League Football Club and Doncaster Rovers Belles Football Club. The delivery of the communications strategy will include overseeing the content calendar for the Club websites, all social media channels, PR and marketing campaigns. Line manage members of the communications team, conducting regular 1-2-1s and ensuring that department standards are being met. Act as conduit between the organisation and third party media, reviewing and fulfilling any media requests that meet the objectives of the clubs communication strategy. Coordination of press conferences with football/rugby management and players (across all Clubs), ensuring all media obligations are adhered to. Coordination of player visits that support media, marketing, sponsorship and community engagements. Manage Club websites and all social media channels by ensuring content produced by the communications team is publishable and reporting on analytics. Use social media to positively engage supporters, providing content that creates reactions and creates calls to action. Plan and executive marketing campaigns across the organisation supporting ticketing, commercial and other stadium revenues. Liaise with third party providers where appropriate for the needs of the business. Ensure all Clubs are fulfilling all legal and media obligations set by their appropriate leagues. Ensure the correct set up of the press area for matches, including commentary for internal/external channels, media accreditation, team sheet production and liaison with opposition media team. Assign the working team for all matches across all Clubs including Academy. Support, where necessary, with ideas for partnership delivery. Report on financial and non-financial KPIs across the department. Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to. Active participation in continuing professional development. Act at all times with utmost good faith to the club(s) and company. Devote full attention and ability to fulfilment of the duties required by the role. To work closely with fellow staff, maintain good relationships, and collaborative working practices. To work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice. To undertake other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job. To maintain the quality of service provision, regularly evaluating work and seeking to make improvements. Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner at all times.
