Overview of the Role

The purpose of the Communications Manager is to develop and implement communications strategy across STGP portfolio both internally and externally.

We would expect the post holder to be experienced communications manager with excellent communication skills; having the ability to write and produce content for different channels; experience of working in complex organisations and be looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list.

External communication

Public relations and media relations activities in response to STGP business activities and events. Manage media activities in the event of operational or security incidents. Maximise our content reach and engagement on social media through strong storytelling, engaging with our partners and customers ensuring our reach spans across a wide variety of demographics and locations. Website content updates and general maintenance. Video and photo content creation (including scripting and commissioning) Digital marketing, including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and analytics. Graphics and artwork creation such as desktop publishing support for Commercial and Strategy teams. Manage projects and relationships with creative agencies, from briefing to publishing. Editorial content planning aligned to our strategic vision and business objectives. Review paid media opportunities and propose a suitable approach for STGP. Writing, managing and winning awards entries for STGP. Support Commercial and Strategy teams with communications activities with trade associations to positively affect industry wide messaging related to policy and legislation Event coordination, attendance and promotion for STGP e.g. conference or events, site visits, speaking opportunities Support Public Sector team in developing a third sector social value strategy, identifying target areas and work with the Group Societal team to ensure Green Power are part of the plans. Create and deliver engaging and creative promotional plans for societal events to maximise event sign up and attendance. Work with HR to set up our volunteering offer ensuring timely events comms and effective management and resourcing of each event. Work closely with Group communications team to ensure marketing and press opportunities are maximised. Market intelligence gathering and reporting from published media to enable STGP to understand what the competition is communicating to the market, enabling STGP to respond as required. Community engagement support to commercial team with education bodies providing tours for school visits with relevant materials and handouts aimed for all age groups. Community engagement support to commercial team across other external stakeholders such as farmers, MPs and environmental groups to build & improve current relations.
Internal Communication

Building on our internal communications to support our strategic vision and business objectives, incorporating current forms and link into Group Internal Communications Team where relevant. Promote success stories of our people and business activities to foster a culture of recognition and collaboration. Content creation for our intranet and internal newsletter. Promote our internal profile by sharing key news in Group communications channels. Build relations with Exec members to offer comms support for any company-wide activities and change projects. Maintain effective stakeholder engagement and communication throughout STGP colleagues and Group communications teams. Ensure our communications templates are up to date.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: 50,000.00-55,000.00 per year
