Communications Manager (maternity Leave Cover)

Job Description

Our Communications Manager plays a key role in helping colleagues feel connected to our Aspris strategy and refreshed brand by managing content on our internal channels that both informs and engages. This is a great fixed term role for someone wanting experience in an organisation that supports colleagues and young people to achieve their potential.

The start date for this role will be around mid-late April 2026 and the fixed term will last approximately 10-11 months.





This is a remote role however there will be some travel to central offices, children's homes, schools and colleges with the potential for overnight stays.

What will you be doing?



Manage our internal content calendar for the year which includes key Aspris, wellbeing and EDI dates Manage our company intranet, ensuring content and new pages align with our newly refreshed brand guidelines; regular content includes business updates, wellbeing, monthly recognition and fun & uplifting competitions Manage our fortnightly, divisional newsletter, working with stakeholders from across Aspris to source content, draft and publish Send ad hoc emails from our IC platform as needed Work closely with our digital marketing team to create blog content for our external website Support our in-person events such as the Aspris Awards and annual conference Work closely with the wider Brand & Communications team to share colleague stories to help tell the Aspris story

What experience or qualifications will you need?



Experience in an internal communications role to hit the ground running, ideally experience at organisations with non-desk based front line colleagues Must be proficient in using intranet software and similar platforms Experience with using Canva or other design applications will be useful, along with experience of briefing in and working with a design team (ours is in-house) Experience in editing video is also a plus, but not essential Confident in working with varying stakeholders from front-line, to Exec Team Experience in working on large internal events such as conferences and awards would be beneficial, but not essential Degree level in a media / content / journalism / marketing subject or relevant experience


Our current Communications Manager will be off on maternity leave, leaving an established and well-structured drum beat of content for a communications pro to jump in and hit the ground running, with new and exciting projects to get stuck into as well!
