Do you thrive in fast paced environments and have the experience and gravitas to provide leadership teams with communications advice and direction?
You will enjoy the variety provided by a role where your key stakeholders include the Business Development team for third party communications, the primary care team as they launch a proactive, borough level engagement strategy, and the clinical and operations teams on day to day service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and Marketing, you will join a team of seven Communications colleagues who are collectively responsible for all SYNLAB UK&I businesses, including Synnovis.
For the right self starter who can prove themselves as a superb writer and campaign planner, this role offers real potential to grow and evolve.
As Communications Manager, you'll take the lead in shaping and delivering impactful communications to our service users. Your work will be central to supporting Synnovis' clinical and operational goals, helping to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships across primary care, secondary care, and third-party partners. This comes at a pivotal time, following a complex transformation programme and a significant cyberattack, making your role critical in restoring confidence and driving engagement.
Your development and learning
You will have a suite of learning opportunities available through The Synnovis Way Development programme which is used across Synnovis to enable you to reach your potential, learn new skills and achieve your goals.
This is managed between you and your line manager in line with your own personal and professional development ambitions.
You can apply for finance to drive innovation and service development for the benefit of patients through our Innovation Accelerator Fund.

It is currently delivering one of the largest NHS pathology transformation programmes in the UK to date, including the development of a cutting-edge, 10 floor laboratory hub in Blackfriars, London.
The SYNLAB and Synnovis corporate function operates from the 8th floor of the hub which less than a 5 minute walk from Southwark Tube or Blackfriars station and nestled closely to a vast array of entertainment and fabulous places to dine, relax and meet people.
By joining Synnovis you become part of SYNLAB UK&I which provides laboratory, diagnostic and advisory services to a range of sectors across UK & Ireland, including healthcare and wellness, sport, travel and insurance. We employ over 2,800 people and perform more than 63 million tests a year.
Working as part of SYNLAB's dynamic communications team, this newly created role will focus on growing engagement and relationships with our service users across primary care, secondary care, and third-party partners. From general news and operational updates to clinical incidents, service disruptions, industrial action, and Business Continuity Planning, you'll be at the forefront of delivering clear, timely, and impactful communications. You'll also support knowledge sharing from Subject Matter Experts, helping to build trust and engagement across our network.
As Communications Manager, you'll take ownership of editorial oversight, message strategy, and content creation across a range of channels, including clinical alerts, e-newsletters, vlogs, websites, practice visits, hub tours, CPD seminars (virtual and in-person), and Trust intranets.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a new in-house role with the freedom to define its future remit and success, perfect for a proactive communicator ready to make a meaningful impact.
