The children, staff and governors of Marlow C of E Infant School are looking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and experienced individual to work as a key member of the lively and supportive school team. The role will be term time only for 30 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Starting in September 2025. the post will be working in the office team, interacting with a large number of people within the school community including pupils, teaching and support staff, governors and parents.

About the role
The role of communications officer is pivotal to the smooth running of the school on a day to day basis. They are the first point of contact for visitors to the school and as a result the successful candidate will develop a wide range of knowledge about the school and its community.
The Communications Officer ensures that there is high quality communication about every element of the school's work and that this reaches all stakeholders. They are responsible for ensuring communication systems are regularly reviewed to keep them up-to-date and accessible for all.
The communications officer works with the Headteacher and the Leadership team on key elements of marketing the school within the school community and beyond. Key tasks include:preparing materials for prospective and new parents and carers to communicating and collating the necessary information that these parents/carers will need to make sure that their child's start to school life is a smooth one; overseeing and making posts on the school's social media channels; taking a key role in parent engagement, preparing the weekly school newsletter, maintaining the school website, supporting the Headteacher with school admissions and liaising with the school's Parent & Friends Association.
About you
Candidates will have experience of working within a busy office environment, have impeccable verbal and written communication skills and will have experience of writing for different audiences. They will have excellent IT skills and a keen eye for detail. They will have worked with a range of IT platforms, including Microsoft and Google applications, and creating and developing website pages. Candidates should have a good standard of education to include Maths & English GCSEs Grades A- C (5-9)
