Named as the best city to live and work in the north west consecutively for three years running, Preston is a proud city, full of ambition at the heart of the region's economic development.

We have lots to shout about, with regeneration and new investment around every corner. With excellent rail and motorway connectivity, an award-winning City Living Strategy and an Active Travel Plan to improve the city's cycle and pedestrian infrastructure, the city boasts some of Lancashire's most attractive urban greenspaces and historic parks. The city also continues to be the focus of international acclaim as we deliver the Council's ambitious Community Wealth Building Agenda, often known as the 'Preston Model'.

We're looking for a self-starter to join our busy team who has passion and drive, to be part of team with a commitment to promoting Preston as a leading place for investment and a thriving cultural visitor destination, and communicating our essential services and extensive events calendar to our residents.

With a wide variety of services and policies to promote, every day is different. Thinking on your feet and delivering to deadlines, you'll be part of the team developing and implementing a wide range of engaging, multi-platform, communications campaigns across all departments, working with officers, cabinet members, frontline services, external delivery partners and our city-wide anchor network partners.

Excellent media relations and press release writing skills, creating creative and engaging digital content and social media campaigns, and event management experience is essential for this position. Based at the Town Hall, we offer flexible working hours, a competitive salary and ongoing training in a supportive, friendly team environment.
