Are you passionate about bringing people together, building connections, and making a real difference in the lives of children and families? Do you love working with people and want to be part of a school that truly values its community?
Nightingale Primary School
is looking for a
Community Ambassador
to join our team!
This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of our school's community work -- helping to build strong, meaningful partnerships between families, local organisations, and the school. You'll also join a network of Community Ambassadors across the Maritime Academy Trust, sharing ideas and initiatives to help every child thrive.
What's the role all about?
As a Community Ambassador, you'll:
Build relationships with local businesses, charities, and services
Help us unlock new opportunities for families through partnerships and community-led initiatives
Support and organise school events like coffee mornings, parent workshops, and community socials
Represent the school in the local area and raise its profile
Signpost families to local support services and resources
Work closely with the pastoral team and wider Trust community to make a real impact
Whether it's helping to run a workshop for parents, setting up a community initiative or simply being a friendly face to families and the local community -- this is a role where your ideas, compassion, and creativity will go a long way.
What kind of person are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is:
Empathetic, caring, and a great listener
Confident with people from all walks of life
Organised, proactive, and able to manage their own time
Resilient and able to adapt to changing situations
Driven to make a positive impact in the school and wider community
What kind of experience might you have?
Community experience comes in many forms. You might have:
Helped with a PTA or school fundraising event
Supported a local sports team or youth group (coaching, admin, etc.)
Been part of a local committee or community board
Volunteered as a parent helper on school trips or supported reading in class
Given your time to a local charity or worked in a charity shop
Helped organise or run community events or fundraisers
If you've played a role in bringing people together or supporting your local area, that's the kind of experience we'd love to hear about.
You'll be working independently, but never alone -- you'll have the support of our brilliant team at
Nightingale
, who are dedicated to supporting children and families with wellbeing, behaviour, and emotional needs. You'll also be part of a friendly network of Community Ambassadors across the Trust, so you'll always have people to share ideas with and turn to for advice.
This is a term-time only, part-time role (15 hours per week), with flexible working hours. Your time might be split between working on-site, out in the community, or occasionally from home.
