Stephens and George Centenary Charitable Trust is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Community Assistant to join our team at Dowlais Community Centre. This role is ideal for someone passionate about community engagement, physical activity, and inclusive programming.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of community programmes including sports, wellbeing, and social activities.
Assist with the coordination of events, classes, and outreach initiatives.
Engage with diverse groups including carers, children, and older adults.
Maintain a welcoming and safe environment across the centre.
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to promote active lifestyles.
Essential Requirements
Recognised sports qualification (e.g., Level 2 Gym Instructor, Coaching Certificate, or equivalent).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Must be flexible including evenings and weekends
Desirable
Experience working in community settings.
First Aid certification.
Knowledge of local services and networks.
