Rates of pay: Weekend's up to 13.20 per hour, bank holiday enhancements, paid holiday, phone allowance and mileage at 45 pence per mile. Zero-hour contract.
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for our clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults, including seniors and those with specialised care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's.
What we do need from you: is to have the Right to Work in the UK, as we are NOT able to offer Health and Care Worker visas. Own car or form of transport is required for travelling around Brixham.
Duties
Assist clients with personal care routines, including washing, dressing, and grooming
Support with mobility and transfer activities
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Administer medication in accordance with prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
Provide companionship to promote emotional well-being
Support clients with activities of daily living such as shopping, light housekeeping, and laundry
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, maintaining safe driving practices
Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly
Assist with specialised care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Follow care plans developed by healthcare teams, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols
Requirements
Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care techniques, including medication administration and first aid
Experience in dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice or senior care is advantageous
Valid driving licence and a clean driving record for transportation duties
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience
Flexibility to work various shifts as required; roles will involve evening and weekend work
Relevant qualifications in caregiving or nursing are preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
