This job attracts the following remuneration package for the successful external applicant:
15,000 - Recruitment & Retention Premia
8,000 - Relocation Allowance (if applicable)
950 - CPD Allowance
1 PA - for Special interest (subject to agreement)
The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Windsor and Maidenhead Older Adults Mental Health Team.
The vacancy has arisen as a result of 1 of the current Consultants taking partial retirement and reducing the number of sessions worked and one of the other current Consultants reducing their sessions. The service covers Maidenhead, Cookham, Windsor, part of Ascot and some of the riverside villages.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership to the team and work collaboratively with the other consultant colleagues.
The post holder will be encouraged to attend the following meetings: MDT meeting, weekly referrals meeting, monthly neuroradiology meeting, OPMH business meeting and team business meeting. There is also monthly East Berkshire OPMH Consultant Peer supervision.

• Excellent knowledge in specialty.
• Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
• Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
• Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.

• Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCPsych or equivalent
• CCT in old age psychiatry or equivalent
• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
• Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
• Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
• Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.

• Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
• Additional clinical qualifications.
• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
