Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Community & Development Coordinator to work as part of our Bristol Carers Community & Ethnic Inclusion Service.

This service runs Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00.

The service supports adults who live in the area covered by Bristol City Council and work with people with mental health problems.


We support all people or those who have mental health problems, their formal or informal carers and families in the community to identify their strengths and work towards empowering them.


Our support is based on values of Recovery and Social inclusion using a person-centred approach.


We offer one to one support, and groups.


The CDW will provide and seek opportunities to implement a service to reach Black, Minority and Ethnic Groups.


The CDW will work with related agencies to:

Develop the cultural competencies within the whole team for a more responsive service provision for diverse communities. Play a key role in maintaining the existing partnerships and in engaging communities, where gaps in service provision are identified. To improve better dissemination of information and good practice about effective services.

The CDW will promote positive mental health, cultural sensitivity awareness.


Where appropriate they will improve access to talking therapies, and other forms of supportive therapies and collaborative working with the primary and secondary care statutory sector, including police authorities and related crime reduction services.

The CDW will be part of the Community and Carers Team.
