Job Description

East Berkshire Community Dietetic Service based in Windsor has an opportunity to offer a permanent Band 5 Clinical Dietitian role .



The post holder will be covering a varied and diverse community caseload, including outpatient clinics, community inpatient wards , paediatric triage, patients requiring nutritional support or enteral nutrition in nursing homes and their own homes and diabetes education. An interest in developing skills in specialist dietetic areas/treatments such as paediatrics , HEN and FODMAPs would be an advantage to applicants looking for progression to band 6 roles.



We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of face-to-face, virtual and phone appointments as well as home visits . To support this, we have excellent IT access and support staff home-working where appropriate .



As a team we strongly value continuing professional development and offer an employee-led appraisal process and personal development plan. We will support you to develop your ideas for research and audit and offer collaboration and training with our Research & Development and Clinical Effectiveness teams. We also engage in student training and facilitate teaching opportunities.



We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled and committed dietitians to join this forward-thinking team.



Working under the guidance of the Team Lead Dietitian, to provide dietetic care to a varied and diverse caseload of patients in the community as outlined above.



Travelling to and providing care at various sites including but not limited to community hospitals, patients' homes, nursing homes, GP practices and some home working.



Delivering a proportion of care using online platforms e.g. OneConsultation , MS Teams and Webex



Delivering diabetes education groups



Supporting our student training programme



M entoring Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAPs)



Involvement in departmental research activity and quality improvement project work



Contribute to service improvement conversations in dedicated meetings

The "must haves" for this role:



Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics



Registered with Health Care Professionals Council and full BDA membership



Experience of working in acute/community setting as a dietitian or dietetic learner/ student.



Ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly - travelling to multiple sites is often required



Ability to work from home at time with access to W i F i using equipment provided by BHFT
