Join Our Team as a Community Early Years Practitioner!



Are you passionate about giving children the best start in life? Do you want to make a real difference for families across the city? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join our Early Years Quality Improvement Team.



As a Community Early Years Practitioner (CEYP), you'll work closely with early years providers, speech and language therapists, health visitors, family hubs, and public health colleagues to support families and improve outcomes for children aged 0-5.



What You'll Do


Develop and deliver high-quality early years programmes, workshops, and training packages for families and professionals focusing on Healthy Lifestyles and, speech Language and communication and improved outcomes for children in line with the Best Start in life strategy --both face-to-face and online. Support the Start Well offer, promoting oral health, healthy lifestyles, and speech & language development. Contribute to the Public Health accredited quality assurance Healthy Early Years Award, helping settings tackle key public health challenges like healthy eating, oral health, and physical activity. Build strong relationships with early years providers and families to ensure children are school-ready. Work in partnership with speech and language colleagues to develop and deliver training upskilling the early years workforce to support the development of children's speech, language and communication.

What We're Looking For


Someone motivated, organised, and enthusiastic about improving early years experiences for children, families and practitioners. Someone who has at least 2 years post qualifying experience within early years A team player who can build positive relationships with, colleagues, wider professionals and families. Someone who can work flexibly-- occasional evenings and weekends will be required.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.



If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
