This is an exciting opportunity to join a partnership approach within the Community Strategy & Delivery Team and Youth Justice Service at Newport City Council.
This opportunity is for anyone with experience and knowledge in Youth Justice and Community Engagement roles with the right enthusiasm and energy wanting to work as part of an integrated team.
The role will be working to the set objectives as per the JD, focusing on creating, implementing and delivering support to schools, communities and families. Identifying and developing provisions, whilst delivering services aligned with the needs of children, young people and families in Newport.
The successful candidate will work imaginatively, creatively and by listening to the child&s voice and keeping the child at the centre of all planning. Taking a Trauma informed approach and taking the individuals past into account to help support them to a achieve a brighter future.
We are looking to recruit an individual who is passionate about empowering individuals and communities and have experience in planning, leading, organising and evaluating projects. Having strong communication and organisational skills, with proven ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and organisations.
We are looking for someone who is a good listener and enjoys working operationally and directly in community settings. Someone who is a team player but able to work on their own initiative, and able to work flexibly and manage a busy schedule of meetings, lead on delivering sessions and events, some of which may be in the evenings or at weekends.
