We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Engagement Lead to connect people, places, and stories to help older adults and their carers live healthier, happier, and more connected lives.
Working closely with the Head of Programmes, Member Support Lead, and Communications Lead, this relational post helps strengthen community visibility, attract volunteers, promote healthy ageing, and build partnerships that make Crowborough the first 'Good Company' town.
Key Responsibilities
Community Connection & Member Engagement
Increase awareness of Good Company and its support before and after a dementia diagnosis, promoting ways to age well and stay connected.
Identify and reach people who may benefit from Good Company's Clubs, Circles, and HQ support - particularly those at risk of loneliness or early-stage dementia.
Gather and share community knowledge - people, places, and networks - to help older adults live the life they choose for longer.
Work with a team of volunteers to attend local events and groups to connect with potential members, carers, and supporters.
Volunteer Attraction & Recruitment
Deliver Good Company's volunteer recruitment strategy to meet the demand for Good Company.
Build an inclusive network of volunteers who power Good Company's HQ, Clubs and Circles.
Engage pubs, cafes, social and sports clubs to promote hosting Clubs and Circles and volunteering opportunities.
Coordinate Community Engagement volunteers to represent Good Company at community events, markets, fairs, and festivals.
Promote a culture of belonging - ensuring volunteers feel confident, valued, and part of the Good Company team.
Community Visibility & Partnerships
Be a visible and trusted ambassador for Good Company in the community.
Develop relationships with local businesses to encourage sponsorship, in-kind support, and partnership initiatives.
Foster links with the Town Council, Crowborough Forum, Wealden Volunteering, and other community leaders.
Lead on local communications -- managing community-facing social media, drafting press releases and stories for local newspapers and newsletters, and coordinating the design and distribution of flyers and posters.
Ensure messaging, tone, and branding are consistent across all Good Company platforms.
Contribute creative ideas to strengthen Good Company's community impact and visibility.
Storytelling, Know How & Communications
Capture and share authentic stories, images, and lived experiences that showcase the impact of Good Company.
Ensure informed consent and dignity in all storytelling and image sharing.
Help maintain the local 'Know How' resource - curating listings and opportunities that support healthy ageing.
Work with the Technical Advisor and LEAP members to ensure 'Know How' reflects lived experience and up-to-date local information.
Support the CEO in building relationships with health and social care stakeholders.
Maintain regular communication with members, referrers, and community contacts.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: From 28,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 22.5 per week
