Job Summary


Are you looking for a role that makes a difference, The Community Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with community organisations, promote the charities work, and support fundraising efforts.

A key part of this role will be to deliver the back office functions in a supportive, efficient and friendly manner.

ODCTG is a small charity with a big heart based in Okehampton and covering most of West Devon. We are part of the national Community Car scheme with 45 volunteers, and provide a daily ring & ride service and weekly Lifestyle trips for registered clients.

Based at our Okehampton office, we are seeking a community engagement officer to join our small team of paid staff and help support our volunteers.

Duties



Inform community members about our services and through presentations, and outreach activities. Supervise volunteers and staff involved in community engagement projects, ensuring effective collaboration and support. Engage with clients, and community organisations using social media platforms to enhance the organisation's visibility and share news. Coordinate fundraising events and campaigns. Conduct market research to identify community needs and assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies. Prepare reports on community engagement activities, providing insights for future initiatives.

Skills



Experience in the charity sector Experience in supervising teams or volunteers. Excellent communication skills Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing strategies. Experience in running small projects Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
